I’ll be in Spain in a few days!

My host mom, Puri, lives with her grandson. They always watch the Simpsons during lunch.

In less than a week, I set off for a quarter-long study abroad program in Toledo, Spain. I’ll be taking three Spanish classes. They’re scheduled for 9 am to 1 pm Mondays through Thursdays.

We’re off Fridays for travel… sometimes, we’ll take organized excursions to Madrid and other places around Toledo. Other weekends, we can travel on our own. I’ll probably be doing some of that, but I don’t have any definite plans just yet.

My host mother’s name is Puri. Her 18-year-old grandson Jorge will also live with us. He’s in high school.

Puri’s house is far from the center of town and the school. Students who’ve stayed with her in the past have taken a bus to school. She serves lunch between 2 and 2:30… and they always watch the Simpsons while they eat.

I’m excited about the trip but nervous about being able to communicate well. I also hope the classes aren’t super hard. Our study abroad group has a Facebook group. This post makes me feel better…

Over the next few days, I have to clean my room, wash my clothes, and pack for the 10-week trip. There’s a lot to do, but I’ll try not to wait until the last minute (I hate packing!).

While in Spain, I’ll post some updates and photos on my blog.
